WOOD CARE

MAKE THEM LAST A LIFETIME

Investing time and a little regular care in these quality utensils are like investing in little pieces of art for the kitchen.  Taking care of them properly will keep them in use for a life time.

In order to preserve and keep your wooden utensils and boards staying like new, follow these simple guidelines:

1.  Wash wooden utensils in warm, soapy water.  Rinse and dry immediately.  Do not leave it soaking in water as this can cause the wood to warp.

2.  Never put wooden utensils in the dishwasher as this can cause cracks and breakdown the quality of the wood.

3.  Once a month, use a food-grade safe oil such as mineral oil, or beeswax on your utensil as this preserves its life to keep it looking shiny and new while also working as a sealant against germs.  Make sure the utensil is completely dry before resealing.

4.  Wood is a natural substance and will expand and retract when exposed to elements like water and heat which can cause the grain to raise.   This is normal and will get better with use, time and a little maintenance.  Simply use a brown paper bag or a very fine grain sandpaper (1000 grit or higher) and rub down the utensil until smooth again.
